MetaRinse is an independent, browser-based utility for inspecting and removing readable image metadata before sharing.
What MetaRinse does
MetaRinse helps people inspect GPS, camera, date, creator, description, software, and other readable fields in JPEG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, and HEIF files. It creates a fresh image locally and verifies the output before offering it for download.

Why it was built
Photo-sharing advice often reduces privacy to a single switch or claims that one action makes a file anonymous. MetaRinse was built to offer a visible, testable workflow: inspect, re-encode locally, re-inspect, and explain the limits in normal language.
Independent service
MetaRinse is independently operated by JS YOO. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by camera makers, social platforms, browser vendors, or operating-system vendors.
How the content is produced
Product explanations are checked against the current implementation and the project’s generated test files. When a guide cites a format or browser standard, it links to the primary specification or platform documentation. Observed fixture results are labeled separately from illustrative examples, and limitations are kept visible even when they make the tool sound less absolute.
JS YOO publishes the English and Korean content and does not claim professional credentials that have not been established. The Brazilian Portuguese pages identify Jisuk Yoo as the responsible publisher and are maintained as a localized version of the same product and evidence.
