Terms of Use
Rules for lawful, authorized use of the MetaRinse image metadata cleaner and the limits of the service.
Acceptance and operator
These terms govern use of MetaRinse, operated by JS YOO.
Permitted use
Use MetaRinse only with images you own or are authorized to edit. You remain responsible for the image, the decision to remove metadata, the output quality, and the way you share the result.
Prohibited use
- Do not use MetaRinse to disguise stolen images or remove attribution in order to reuse another person’s work.
- Do not use it to create false documents, evade platform safeguards, bypass moderation, or facilitate unlawful conduct.
- Do not interfere with the service, distribute malicious files, or misrepresent MetaRinse as providing anonymity or forensic guarantees.
Processing and output
The cleaner runs locally. JPEG/WebP compression, PNG regeneration, color-profile handling, file size, binary bytes, and subtle pixel values can change. Keep the original separately and inspect the output before relying on it.
No guarantee of anonymity
MetaRinse reports what its configured scanner can read. It does not remove visible information, filename context, cloud records, backups, or every possible forensic trace. The service is provided without a promise that any file is anonymous, authentic, or suitable for a particular purpose.
Copyright and ownership
Removing a metadata field does not transfer copyright, create permission, or change ownership. Rights remain with their lawful holders.
Changes and contact
Material product or policy changes are recorded in the changelog. Questions may be sent to metarinse@gmail.com. The owner must add jurisdiction-appropriate liability, governing-law, age, and dispute terms after legal review.
